I received an AAS degree in 2000 from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Display & Exhibit Design in Manhattan, NY. A few years later, I returned to school and received a BFA in Graphic Design from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. My college years were all about exploring art (mostly photography) and design. Prior to that, I spent several years working in 1-hour photo labs and as a retail & corporate level visual merchandiser. I have also worked in the publishing field as a graphic designer and photo stylist.
Combining 15 years as a brand identity/graphic designer and 25+ years in various creative and retail roles, I am well versed in strategic thinking, best design practices, visual aesthetic/display design, and the ability to look at the bigger picture, resulting in an effective brand experience no matter what industry. My love for creativity and customer/client experience often overlaps allowing me to pursue many avenues as opportunities arise. Having experience in many industries and creative mediums allows for a broader view and varying perspectives no matter what type of project I am working on.
In the last few years, I have taken my leather goods business full-time by pursuing the wholesale and e-commerce avenues. However, keeping all of these creative fields in my wheelhouse allows me to continue to grow as an artist and designer. You can read more about my business here > 1974 Leather.
Cheers!
